THE CUSTOMER

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. is a Japanese multinational engineering, elctronics, and electrical equipment company based in Tokyo, Japan. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is one of the core companies of the Mitsubishi Group with more than 80,000 employees.

THE NEED

The customer required to exploit the geothermal resource in the town of Kokonoe of the Oita Prefecture located in southwest Japan. The resource is made of brine/steam at 140°C. Mitsubishi provided the system integration of Turboden ORC technology to the final customer. 

OUR SOLUTION

A ORC unit of 5 MWe was provided to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. The plant is located in the Oita Prefecture and it is the largest binary geothermal power plant in Japan. The ORC unit exploits geothermal brine/steam at 140°C and the cooling is performed by air cooled condenser.
