THE CUSTOMER

Solör Bioenergy Group is a leading player in renewable energy based on wood fuels with 600,000 users every day in Sweden and Norway. Specialized in district heating construction, management and operation they are also owner and operate power plants.

In Falkoping (Sweden) they have installed a Turboden ORC model T22 CHP SPLIT for electricity and thermal power production.

THE NEED

The ORC system is in operation since 2012 working at full load during the winter period to provide both electricity and thermal power to the city. The new energetic scenario that Europe is facing, as well as the increasing of electricity demand in the area, drove the owner to invest in the ORC maintenance and upgrade. Also the increasing of electricity demand in the area is an important factor.

OUR SOLUTION

To increase power production Turboden performed activities on electrical and also mechanical side. A new generator of bigger size and adequate power cubicles have been installed. Modification and upgrade on the existing control system have also been done. Most important intervention concerned the turbine: inner parts have been completely re-designed and built to increase efficiency and production. Spindle and seals have been updated and replaced to guarantee higher reliability.
New components have been commissioned by our specialized staff in cooperation with customer personnel.

All the above activities will allow the ORC to increase the nominal electricity production of 17%.
