THE NEED
In Roeselare, the customer’s urban waste incinerator is present to feed a district heating network. A pressurized water heat exchanger was installed to heat up the water that feeds the district heating network. Spie has investigated a solution to utilize the remaining amount of thermal power not absorbed by the grid.
OUR SOLUTION
In 2008, a Turboden 30 HR ORC module was installed in parallel to the existing district heating network. The ORC exploits the additional thermal power remaining after the district heating process. Exceptional performances of the ORC are recorded in fluctuating conditions.
