THE CUSTOMER

Lightning Dock Geothermal, LLC is a subsidiary of Cyrq Energy Inc., a renewable company that owns and operates four geothermal power plants in US.

In 2024 Lightning Dock Geothermal plant was acquired by Zanskar Geothermal & Minerals Inc.

THE NEED

In 2013 a first 4 MWe plant was manufactured to deliver electricity to Public Service Company of New Mexico, with plans to further enlarge it to 10 MW. However, due to issues related to availability and efficiency of the existing plant (based on ORC screw expander technology), the second phase of the development was never completed. In 2017 the customer decided to dismantle the existing plant and choose Turboden as new geothermal solutions provider to design and supply a more efficient and reliable 14 MWe ORC power plant, that can guarantee the awaited results.

OUR SOLUTION

Turboden solution utilizes a high efficiency proprietary single axial turbine and in-house air cooled condenser design.
