District Heating

VERSATILE HEAT SOURCE UTILIZATION

Turboden High-Temperature Heat Pumps are designed to harness a broad spectrum of heat sources, enabling efficient hot water production under any operating condition.
Thanks to Turboden extensive expertise, every thermal energy can be effectively exploited to deliver the most suitable and efficient solution for each project.
Typical heat sources include:

  • Cold sources: river water and seawater (0 – 20 °C)
  • Warm sources: wastewater from sewage treatment plants and datacenters (10 – 30 °C)
  • Hot sources: industrial waste heat, flue gas condensation water and geothermal energy (30 – 100 °C)

Drawing on deep experience in fluid management, Turboden engineers select the most appropriate heat exchanger materials—from carbon steel and stainless steel to titanium—ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation regardless of the source.

HIGH-TEMPERATURE OUTPUT FOR DEMANDING NETWORKS

Turboden High Temperature Heat Pumps can deliver hot water at temperatures up to 150 °C and steam at customized pressures, making them ideal for legacy district heating systems or campus networks with specific thermal requirements. By precisely matching the thermal output to each network, Turboden ensures efficient energy use, reduced fossil fuel dependence, and reliable operation, even under the most demanding conditions.
Turboden systems can upgrade low-grade heat to temperatures suitable for 1st to 5th generation district heating networks, delivering hot water tailored to urban heating applications.
With extensive experience in thermal energy and power generation—having delivered over 170 power plants connected to district heating networks worldwide—Turboden brings proven expertise to the design and implementation of systems connected seamlessly to urban heating infrastructures.
