Now in operation the first 13.6 MWe ORC plant for the turkish Kastamonu Entegre
Wood Based Panels facilities (Particle Board, MDF and OSB) exploit the wood waste to generate Combined Heat and Power thanks to 2 ORC systems (13.6 MWe each).

Turboden S.p.A., a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Group Company, provided 2 ORC systems (13.6 MWe each) for the Turkish leading company in Wood Based Panels production Kastamonu Entegre Agac San. ve Tic. A.Ş. One of the two plants is now in operation.
Kastamonu has already other 3 ORC plants supplied by Turboden, in Gebze and in Balikesir, for a total of 5 biomass plants and 30 MWe installed.
Kastamonu Entegre produces industrial forest products such as MDF, Particle Board, OSB, laminate flooring for the furniture, decoration and construction sectors.
Turboden's high-efficiency ORC turbines, which offer reliable integrated energy solutions, were preferred for these projects, which are installed in the factories in Balıkesir and Kastamonu provinces, to generate electricity from wood waste and residuals from the production processes.
Thanks to the integrated solutions of Turboden ORC technology, these projects, are designed specifically with the tailor-made method. The CO2 saving for electricity production will be 3.000 ton/year and for thermal will be 6.200 ton/year (equal to approximately 4.600 cars put out of circulation*).
(*) – considering average EU car to emit 122,4 gCO2eq/km ; hypothesis of 16.000 km/year
Turboden continues to strengthen its position as the leading biomass ORC supplier in Turkey and around the world, by increasing the number of ORC plants it has established in Turkey to 18 and its installed power to 115 MWe.
