HIGH-TEMPERATURE HEAT PUMP WORKING PRINCIPLE

The Turboden Heat Pump cycle is based on four main components: the evaporator, a patented compressor, the condenser, and the expansion valve. The refrigerant evaporates by absorbing heat from the source—such as river water, sea water, or industrial waste heat), before being compressed by Turboden proprietary compressor, which increases its pressure and temperature. The resulting high-temperature refrigerant then transfers its thermal energy to the condenser to produce hot water or steam. Finally, the expansion valve brings the working fluid back to its initial conditions, completing the cycle.
This technology allows to reach temperatures above 150°C with high coefficients of performance (COP), ensuring outstanding efficiency and reliability.

MODULAR HEAT PUMP

Turboden modular heat pumps are designed to deliver exceptional efficiency and adaptability for industrial processes and district heating networks. Featuring a scalable design with frame sizes from 5 to 15 MW and pre-assembled skids, these systems enable rapid installation with minimal site disruption. By combining multiple units, it is also possible to achieve higher power outputs, while maintaining the same ease of installation.
Capable of reaching output temperatures up to 120°C, our modular units efficiently manage temperature ranges and lifts of up to 100°C. They can produce hot water from various thermal sources—including waste heat, river water, and seawater—making them a versatile solution for wide range of energy recovery applications.
At the core of this advanced technology lies our proprietary patented centrifugal compressor. Specifically optimized for high-temperature cycles and natural refrigerants, it ensures reliable operation and outstanding performance.
By enabling the electrification of thermal processes with higher efficiency than conventional systems, Turboden modular heat pumps help reduce both emissions and operating costs—supporting sustainability goals while enhancing operational performance.
